JAMMU, Jan 27: The displaced persons from Pak occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) today held protest demonstration and raised their issues.
A large number of displaced families from Deva Watala, Bhimber, Kotli, Mirpur, Muzaffarabad, Sudhniti, Nowshera, Poonch, Bagh and Palandhari assembled near Press Club under the banner of PoJK DPs Front 1947, 1965, 1971 and Non-Camp and staged protest demonstration. They raised slogans in favour of their demands.
While speaking, Capt Yudhvir Singh Chib, President of the Front highlighted the issues of PoJK DPs and the problems, which they are facing for the preparation of documents for receiving first installment of Rs 5.50 lakh as compensation per family.
He stated that the document system is very lengthy and difficult for DPs due to non-availability of documents in old record room of Government offices.
“Aadhar Card, state subject, previous land records, death certificates, ration cards, ALC forms, D Forms and nominal rolls are not available with J&K Government. Another difficulty we face is to provide legal heirs death certificates”, Chib added.
He urged the Government to look into these issues and try to solve them immediately so that all DPs will be able to draw this compensation easily. He also demanded removal of column (iv) in Affidavit and also issuance of job notification at the earliest.
Among others who spoke were Jai Pal Sharma, General Secretary, RP Singh, Kulvir Singh Chib, Kuldeep Singh, Sakandya Devi, Hari Singh, Pawan Slathia, Rasal Singh, Master Kehar Singh, Kashmir Singh, Raj Kumar, Babloo, Bimla Devi, Ashwani Kumar, Tara Chand and Baldev Singh.
