JAMMU, July 11: Director Youth Services and Sports, Sheikh Fayaz Ahmed in a meeting of all District Youth Services and Sports Officers of Jammu province held under his chairmanship, reviewed the activities and achievements of Jammu province during the year 2016-2017.
The Director was informed that around 45, 000 student players including boys and girls have participated in sports activities during first quarter of the year across Jammu division.
The Director informed that two mega national level sports events will be hosted by the State during the current year-Under-17 Boys Football at Srinagar in September and Wushu (All age groups boys and girls) at Jammu in December.
He also advised all the officers to distribute the sports material among the needy schools through local MLA’s or through SDMS’s/Sarpanchs.
Later on, he impressed upon the officers of Jammu division to increase the number of participants during the left-out activities of the Department for the year 2017-18.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu; Mohan Lal, Deputy Director Planning Directorate; Sukhdev Singh, Assistant Director Jammu; Surmeet Sudan, Co-ordinator Khelo India and Aijaz Ahmed Haji, SO Directorate, besides all the District Youth Services & Sports Officers of Jammu division.
