Dion opens up about ‘Bittersweet’ first Christmas sans husband

LONDON, Dec 10:  Singer Celine Dion will honour late husband Rene Angelil, who died of cancer in January, by going for a skiing vacation this Christmas with kids as it was a festive tradition for their family.
The 48-year-old singer and Angelil used to visit the slopes of Montana every festive season until he felt too ill last year, and so later this month, she and sons Rene-Charles, 15, and six-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy will be making the trip once more, reported Femalefirst.
“I cannot just live on like, ‘I lost my husband; my children have no father.
“I have to stand tall and strong because this is my way of living: Stand tall, be positive, pick your battles, do the best you can and to live for today, not for tomorrow, for today, and know nothing is perfect, not everything you want will happen,” she said.
Dion said she and her sons will be able to feel Angelil’s presence there as the anniversary of his death approaches around the holidays.
“He put something magic into that snow, into those mountains, and every time we go down, I go down with him. My children go down thinking about him. Every time I take the lift to go up, I feel closer to him,” she said. (PTI)
