JAMMU, Mar 1: Sunil Dimple, president of Jammu West Assembly Movement, has threatened to start agitation against the PHE Department if water supply in the Jammu city is not restored within 24 hours.
He also led a protest demonstration by women and children, who were agitating by exhibiting empty utensils at New Plot Janipur High Court road, against no supply of drinking water for the last two days.
Addressing the protesters, Dimple said the people have no water for drinking, cooking, bathing and washing while all schools, temples and hospitals have also gone dry. “No water tankers are being supplied as all the PHE employees, tankers drivers have also gone on strike,” he added.
Sunil Dimple urged upon the PHE Minister to call the PHE Unions and the PHE Government employees to sit on the negotiation table and find out the amicable solution.
Even as he extended full support to the PHE employees and daily wagers, Dimple also appealed them to call off the strike and exempt the water supplies from their agitation so that people may not suffer.
