Digital payments to weed out black money: Jitendra

JAMMU: Union Minister Jitendra Singh today said promoting digital payments is a part of the Government’s overall strategy to weed out black money and corruption from public life.

“Promoting digital payment is a part of Government’s overall strategy to weed out black money and corruption from public life,” Singh said at a function in Udhampur, about 66 kms from here.

With an aim to promote Digital payments and cashless transactions in the district, a ‘Digi-Dhan Mela’ was organised by district administration, Udhampur, in collaboration with J&K Bank.

Stating that the Digi-Dhan fair is being organised in 100 cities across the country in order to familiarise the common masses about the digital transactions, Singh said that by holding Digi Dhan Mela at Udhampur, the district has made its presence felt across the country.

He said the district is the first in the State after Jammu and Srinagar which has its own Post Office Passport Seva Kendra and asserted that very soon it will have its own radio station whose foundation stone has been laid earlier. (AGENCIES)
