Diabetic screening camp held at GCE

JAMMU, Apr 11: Government College of Education, Jammu organized a one-day free diabetic screening camp in the college premises for health check up and awareness of students and faculty members in collaboration with Directorate of Health Services (DHS), Jammu.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, Principal Secretary to Government, Higher Education Department, J&K Govt in presence of Prof (Dr) Satinder Singh, Nodal Principal, GGM Science College Jammu and Prof (Dr) Mushtaq Ahmed Lone, Dean Faculty of Education, Cluster University Jammu.
Dr Samoon while inaugurating the camp stressed upon the need to maintain healthy life style by taking balanced diet, doing regular exercises and making these camps a regular feature in other Govt. colleges. This was followed by healthy and lively interaction with faculty members and students of the college.
DHS team which examined the students and faculty members, comprised of Ashok Kumar (Supervisor, Lab Technician), Sanjay Dubey, (Senior Lab Technician) and Alka Sharma, Junior Lab Technicia. During the camp about 300 students, faculty and guests were examined for diabetes.
