DHS asked to monitor situation: Bali

JAMMU, Jan 19: Minister for Health & Medical Education Bali Bhagat today informed the Upper House that sufficient arrangements have been put in place to  perform Medical examination regarding Hepatitis-B in Marwah-Dachan areas of Kishtwar.
Minister informed the House that he has directed the Director Health Services Kashmir to visit Anantnag District Hospital to monitor and review arrangements in this regard. He said adequate arrangements have been put in place in Anantnag hospital for treatment and examination of persons with the symptoms of the disease.
Earlier, legislator Firdous Ahmad Tak urged the Government to depute a special team of doctors from Jammu to examine and treat the people in the affected areas. He also appealed the Government to keep helicopter service available for the patients to ferry them to Jammu in case they need specialized treatment.
Pertinently, the Chairman had yesterday asked the Government to make a statement in the House regarding the outbreak of Hepatitis-B in remote Dachan-Marwah areas of district Kishtwar.
