Dharmarth Trust, JHS discuss issues concerning Jammu temples

JAMMU, Dec 25: J&K Dharmarth Trust in association with Jammu Heritage Society (JHS) organized a function to discuss various issues concerning Jammu temples.
The function was attended by the presidents of various bodies of trade, industry, commerce, hotel, tourism, besides presidents of bazar associations, various sabhas, principals of schools and other prominent citizens of Jammu.
BR Kundal, president, J&K Dharamarth Trust Council was the chief guest. While addressing the gathering, Kundal expressed need for close coordination and cooperation for various Shobha yatras taken out in Jammu by different organizations.
He also mentioned measures undertaken to create a reconnect between the public and temples besides sought cooperation and suggestions for making the temples a vibrant place for religious and spiritual activities. The uniqueness of the temples constructed by the Dogra rulers was especially brought out and made a mention of the only temples in north India having “murtis” of Mata Rukmani ji, Balram ji, and existence of very popular Temple of Mata Chintpurni in Jammu itself.
For bringing shrines and Temples of Jammu on religious tourism map, he sought consideration of the State Government and explained measures adopted/underway by the DAT to promote the same by putting signage’s and brief history of each and every temple of Jammu and Kashmir.
Later, all those who participated in the Ram Navmi Shobha Yatra taken out in April 2016, were felicitated by Dharmarth Trust.
Prominent among others present were MLC Romesh Arora, secretary of Dharmarth Trust, Shashi Khajuria, Thakur Narayan Singh, Ved Parkesh Sharma, Piran Ditta, Baldev Khullar, Rakesh Gupta, Yash Pal Gupta, Vinod Malhotra and R Kapoor.
