KATHUA, Feb 18: DC Kathua, Rohit Khajuria today inaugurated a Dialysis Centre at Kathua District Hospital. The facility has been provided under the Prime Minister’s National Dialysis Programme.
ADC, Ghansham Singh Bali, CMO, Dr. Ashok Choudhary, Medical Superintendent, Dr. Sanjeev Verma, doctors, technicians and para medical staff were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, DC said the national programme aimed at setting up facilities of a dialysis centre at district hospital was envisaged by the Union Government.
“The dialysis centre will be run and managed by trained technicians and doctors along with paramedics,” said the DC, adding that dialysis on four patients could be done simultaneously. While patients covered under the National Health Protection Scheme and BPL category will not be charged for the facility, others will be charged Rs. 980 for a dialysis.
The Dialysis Centre will be a boon to many patients as they earlier go to Jammu or Punjab for getting this treatment but now they can avail this facility in Kathua at affordable price, DC said and added that the work on repair of approach road to the Hospital will also start at the earliest as there is no constraint of money.
