DGPC Poonch condemns act of forced conversion

POONCH, July 11:    DGPC Poonch has take serious note of the forced conversion of a girl of the minority community in Srinagar (Kashmir), alleged inaction by District Administration and   demanded immediate intervention of the Governor N N Vohra in this matter.

DGPC Poonch members in an emergency press conference held under the presidentship of  S Narinder Singh here today, strongly condemned the incident wherein, some gonda elements belonging to majority community in Srinagar have tried to force a girl from minority community to change her religion.
Speaking in the press conference S Narinder Singh  appreciated the role of District Gurdwara Parabandhak Committee Pulwama and the different organizations of some majority community who stepped out jointly and approached DGP and lodged FIR against the culprits
DGPC chief said as per the telephonic discussion with the president DGPC Pulwama victim girl student belonging to Minority community is forced to adopt Islam by some anti-social elements. When she refused to do so she was threatened by them.  It highly unfortunate that when victim approached DC concerned, he failed to help the  innocent girl.
Narinder Singh appeared to the  Governor NN Vohra to personally intervene in this matter and after proper investigation, action  must be taken against the culprits,  so that no one ever dare to repeat such acts in future. He also demanded security for the victim and her family in Kashmir.
S Surinder Singh vice  president,  Rajinder Singh general secretary, joint secretary Surjan Singh, Surjit Singh and  Ajit Singh were also present.
