DGP visits Police Hospital, drug de-addiction centre

Srinagar, Feb 9: Director General of Police (DGP), Dr SP Vaid today visited Police Hospital and drug de-addiction centre in PCR complex here to take stock of the functioning of the these units.
A police spokesman said the DGP was accompanied by IGP Kashmir Zone SJM Gillani, DIG Central Kashmir G.H Bhat, SSP PCR Suhail Munawar Mir and SO to DIG Manoj Kumar Pandita.
During his visit, Dr Vaid inspected various units of the Police Hospital and enquired about the availability of drugs and functioning of other arrangements for the patients and the general public visiting the hospital, the spokesman said. He said the Medical Superintendent of Police Hospital Dr Bilal Raja briefed the DGP about the functioning of the hospital and the facilities being provided to the patients. He also highlighted some requirement for the hospital.
DGP directed the Superintendent of the Hospital to keep available all the facilities to the patients and their attendants. Dr Vaid emphasized to ensure efficient sanitation in and around the hospital. He further directed the Superintendent and his team of doctors to get optimum use of the machines procured for efficient patient care. He assured that all the possible support will be provided to the police hospital.
Later, DGP visited the police drug de-addiction centre and took stock of its functioning. During his visit he interacted with the DDC staff and the affected persons admitted in the centre, the police spokesman added.
“DGP was briefed regarding the expansion and additional facilities being created at the centre. During his interaction with the recovering patients he advised them to take full advantages of counselling and other facilities and get themselves out of use of the drugs,” he added.
