DGP reviews functioning of Armed Police

JAMMU, Feb 20: As a part of its programme to rejuvenate all wings of police organization, Director General of Police (DGP), Dr. S. P. Vaid today visited Armed Police Headquarters here today and reviewed the functioning of Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police. He discussed various issues and stressed to initiate innovative measures for a visible change in the wing.
Dr. Vaid, discussing the functioning of Armed Police with the officers said that JKAP is a vital organ of police organization, which is delivering at different fronts of policing, especially law and order and anti-militancy front. He said that the personnel of Armed Police are deployed in far-flung areas and it is the need of hour to examine basic amenities, being provided to the personnel deployed in hostile situations.
DGP enquired about the living and working facilities available in different areas of the State and stressed to initiate a comprehensive programme for augmentation of the facilities, being provided to the personnel. He said that better facilities and  good atmosphere is imperative to better public deliverance by our personnel.
ADGP Armed J&K, L. Mohanti gave a detailed resume about the functioning of Armed Police, besides infrastructural facilities available in different districts of the State. “Though in the recent years, building infrastructure has been strengthened but there is need for further improvements in the basic facilities being provided at far off places of deployment including guard posts”, said Mohanti.
IG IRP Jammu Range, Yoginder Koul, through power point presentation apprised the meeting about the functioning and deployment of armed personnel in Jammu Province.
Dr. Vaid said that the proficiency of personnel could be improved with the better facilities to be provided to the personnel.
He disclosed that all possible support would be provided to make the force more professional and PHQ would provide every assistance for augmenting the basic amenities to the cops. He stressed to utilize available resources and assets  to raise more infrastructure for the betterment of police personnel and their families.
Among others, the meeting was attended by ADGPs, VK Singh and Dilbag Singh, IGPs, SA Watali, Surinder Kumar Gupta and JP Singh, AIGPs, Dr. Haseeb Mughal, Sheikh Junaid Mehmood, Sameer Rekhi and Kulbir Singh, DDB (PHQ), Munesh Dutta, Exn. PCD Nissar Hussain, Dy.SP (Personnel) APHQ, Junaid Wali and other police officers.
