DGP promotes 337 personnel, sanctions scholarship of Rs 3.10 lakh

JAMMU, Oct 15: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh today ordered promotion of 337 police personel and sanctioned scholarship of Rs 3.10 lakh for the wards of deceased police personnel.
The promoted personnel include 32 Inspectors, 295 Sub Inspectors, 3 ASIs and 7 Head Constables. 20 Sis (M), 12 Sis (S), 9 ASIs (Tel), 3 ASIs (Photo), 1 ASI(S), 2 HCs (M) and 7 SgCts (M) are also among the promoted personnel of different cadres of J&K Police. 140 ASIs of Executive Police are from Kashmir Zone and 142 are from Jammu Zone.
DGP hopped that the promotions will bring renewed spirit of zeal and dedication among the personnel.
Meanwhile, DGP has sanctioned scholarships in favour of 62 wards of deceased police personnel for the academic session 2018-19. An amount of Rs 3.10 lakh scholarship has been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund for these students.
Rs 5000 each has been sanctioned in favour of school going children of deceased police personnel who have expired while in service due to natural or accidental deaths. The wards who have been provided scholarships are studying in different classes from primary to graduation level.
Police Headquarters has been sanctioning scholarships for wards of deceased police personnel and martyrs in order to provide them a succor to continue their studies.
