DGP flags off ‘Clean Jammu-Clean Tawi’ campaign vehicle

JAMMU, May 15: Director General of Police (DGP) Dr SP Vaid accompanied by Chairperson Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA) Bharti Vaid flagged off campaign vehicle for 3-day ‘Clean Jammu-Clean Tawi’ intensive awareness initiative at Bikram Chowk here today.
The initiative is being launched by PWWA from May 21 to 23 in association with various holders including Divisional Administration, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Jammu Development Authority, State Pollution Control Board, Jammu University, Cluster University, Jammu, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Ministry of I&B, GoI, Directorate of School Education Jammu, reputed Private Schools, 92.7 Big FM and Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Jammu.
DGP, speaking to the media before the ceremony said that Clean Jammu-Clean Tawi #Hero4Tawi is an initiative of Jammu and Kashmir Police to spread awareness about the cleanliness in Jammu. He said that Jammu which is the City of Temples can be made clean and beautiful only with the collective efforts of all people and the stakeholders.
Dr Vaid said that a campaign of the same nature will be launched in Srinagar in the month of September this year.
Chairperson PWWA Bharti Vaid highlighted the aims and objectives of the campaign. She reiterated that cleanliness and its awareness is duty of all of us and all of us should put in our efforts to make it successful.
Inspector General of Police, Armed/IR Kashmir SA Watali, Chairman of Arrangement Committee while briefing the media persons said that this campaign is aimed to generate and disseminate awareness about cleanliness. He said during the campaign which will start from May 21, nukkad, nataks and cultural programmes at various places of the city will also be held. There will be motivational speeches by experts, he informed.
IGP Armed Jammu Danesh Rana, retired IGPs PR Manhas, Johnny William, Retd DIG Rajinder Gupta, SSP Jammu, Commandants of various IRP and Armed Battalions and senior police officers were present on the flag off ceremony.
