DGBR visits Project Sampark

JAMMU, Feb 21: Lt Gen SK Shrivastava, Director General Border Roads visited Project Sampark from 19th to 21th February. During the visit he inspected the roads Reasi-Arnas-Mahore and Budhal-Mahore-Gul besides other roads and bridges under construction.
During the visit, the DGBR emphasised on judicious use of resources and timely completion of works while maintaining the quality as per the laid down norms and standards. He critically examined the grey areas and extended his full support towards providing the additional requirements for overcoming the challenges.
He gave timelines for the completion of the projects while encouraging and motivating the staff on ground to live up to the glory and reputation of the department.
He conveyed that there was an urgent need to upgrade and adopt better technology and materials in the works undertaken by the BRO so as to keep pace with the modernisation and to save time and speed up progress. He also impressed upon on the Chief Engineer Project Sampark to insist upon the field executives to carry out the tests as mandated, using Field Trial Evaluations. Towards this they must bush up their technological knowledge.
He met the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti besides the Army Commander Northern Command and Corps Commander 16 Corps. During the meetings he discussed the security concerns and issues pertaining to the BRO particularly the impediments and hurdles in the progress of work and sought their assistance in overcoming them.
