DFP holds awareness camp on Special Outreach Programmes

JAMMU, Feb 24: Carrying forward the batten of publicity of various public welfare schemes, launched by the Union Government during last four years, Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, J&K region organized a day long publicity programme cum awareness camp at “Oasis Farms” Barn, Kote Bhalwal, near here, today.
The camp was held under its “Special Outreach Programme” on the theme of “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Deen Dayal Upadhaye, Gram Jyoti Yojana, Ujawalla Yojana and Swachh Bharat Mission.
The outstanding features of this programme were the larger participation of Anganwari workers, helpers, supervisors, ASHAs beside women from the civil society.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, Member Parliament Lok Sabha Jammu- Poonch Parliamentary Constituency was the chief guest, whereas SDM Jammu (North) Ilyas Khan graced the occasion as guest of honour. A galaxy of officers from different departments of Kote Bhalwal block also attended the programme.
The programme was formerly started by a song on national integration and communal harmony which was presented by the artists of Song and Drama Division of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. During the programme message of cleanliness and Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao was prominently disseminated by the means of skit, theme based songs and other cultural activities.
Deputy Director Directorate of Field Publicity Neha Jalali presented the welcome address and a brief report of different publicity activities being undertaken by the directorate of Field Publicity in the State.
SDM Ilyas Khan in his address expressed his gratitude to DFP for organising such a big programme in Bhalwal area. He further expressed that more such awareness programmes need to be organised in the area in coming time on other themes.
Jugal Kishore in his address expressed his pleasure for different schemes started by Government of India. He specially praised the schemes like Ujawalla and Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao. He also quoted many examples where girls have proved that they are not less than boys.
Departmental stalls of various State Government departments were also installed at the programme venue, which were equipped with publicity literature on other public welfare schemes and programmes. The departments who displayed their stalls included Power Development Department, Jammu and Kashmir Bank, ICDS Department, Rural Development Department, Health and Medical Department etc.
