JAMMU, Feb 18: Demanding Sub District status, the resident of Devsar, district Kulgam held a protest demonstration here today.
The residents of Devsar under the banner of Kulgam Action Committee assembled outside Press Club and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
The protestors were demanding SDM Office at Devsar and inclusion of villages Brinal Lamer, Dardgand, Akhal, Kanker Pomy and other adjoining villages under the jurisdiction of Devsar.
One of the protesting residents of Devsar alleged that the Government has ignored their genuine demands and compelled them to come on roads.
He further stated that Sub District status has been granted to Tral, Kokernag, DH Pora and Doru, but ignored Devsar, which is grave injustice with them.
He urged the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, Deputy Speaker and MLA Devsar to redress their genuine demands including Sub District status to Devsar at the earliest.
“If our demands were not redressed at the earliest, we will intensify our protest and for any untoward incident the Government will be responsible”, he warned.
