Dev Colony Mishriwala, areas of Bantalab plunge into darkness

JAMMU, July 18: The inhabitants of Dev Colony, Mishriwala are facing total blackout for last eight days after the transformer in the area developed a snag.
The residents of the area said that for last eight days four transformers were replaced but none could last for a day. They said despite the instructions of MP, Jugal Kishore Sharma to PDD authorities to replace the transformer by installing one with high capacity the authorities failed to do the same with the result the problem has aggravated.
The district president, BJP Rural, Omi Khajuria warned the authorities that in case they fail to install a upgraded transformer in the area as per the load capacity the people will be forced to launch agitation.
Meanwhile, the Bharat Nagar and Ganga Nagar areas of Bantlaab are also facing total blackout for last three days and despite the repeated pleas of the people, the authorities have failed to settle the problem.
The residents said that the power crisis has added to the woes of the people in the area especially the old and infirm people as well as small children are unable to resist the hot and humid temperature of the Monsoon.
