KATHUA, Jan 22: The people of various villages today called on Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh at Billawar and apprised him of the problems being faced by them due to burning down of the transformers.
The delegation alleged that the role of PDD engineers is not up to mark as they have failed to redress the problems of the people. Dr Singh was informed that Ward 14 Kathua is in complete darkness for last one week and the authorities have failed to restore the power supply in the area. They alleged 30 Panchayats of Basholi, Bani, Billawar and Lohi Malhar are facing acute power crisis.
Dr Nirmal Singh issued on spot instructions to power engineers to redress the problems of the people and such complaints should not reach him in future. He made it clear to them that the government is for the service of people and officers should on priority look into the problems of masses instead of ignoring them.
