JAMMU, Jan 16: A deputation of executive members of J&K Private School’s Coordination Committee here today met Secretary to Department of Education and raised certain issues.
President of the Coordination Committee, Rameshwar Singh Manhas expressed concern over the long pending issues of fixation of fee and demanded a concrete policy on the issue. He highlighted that most of the private schools affiliated with J&K State Board of School Education charge very nominal and justified fees from the parents.
Government must give relief to these schools by reducing, minimising the formalities and removing the complex procedures to manage the schools.
Various other issues related to different kind of No Objection Certificates were also discussed along with request for common order of Affiliation and Recognition.
The Secretary, Ajeet Kumar Sahu gave a very patient hearing to the deputation and assured to resolve the issues in near future.
Regarding charging of fee, the Secretary assured the deputation that very soon a concrete policy on charging of fee would be in public domain.
Moreover, NOC from Transport Department, Chemical Safety Certificate, Building Safety Certificates and various other formalities are being reviewed and simplified procedures are being designed, so that school managements could concentrate on the academic aspects rather than running from pillar to post for collection of these documents. He also conveyed to the committee members that most of the procedures are being upgraded to online system so that fast disposal of matters could take place.
