Dengue cases rise to 52

JAMMU, Oct 11: Twenty-six more cases of Dengue have been reported in the State, taking the total number of patients affected with the disease so far this year to 52.
“In last six days, 26 more patients have been found positive taking the total to 52”, a Health official said, adding, of all the districts, Jammu district has highest 27 cases, followed by Kathua district, which has 11 such cases and Samba with 7 cases while one case each has been reported from Reasi, Udhampur, Kishtwar and other districts of Jammu region.
A CRPF jawan from Kashmir has also been reported positive for Dengue, he said, adding out of total 52 positive cases, nine cases have been reported from other States.
He said that a total of 655 patients were tested for Dengue till today out of which 52 cases were found positive while reports of 603 were negative. “No death has been reported due to Dengue so far in the State”, he added.
The official further revealed that out of these 52 Dengue patients, 30 were males and 22 females. “Most of the patients affected with the disease have returned to their homes after successful treatment while only two-three patients with some complications are still under treatment. No one is critical”, he added.
