Training a gun at Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad today said that the former was confusing the masses by ceaselessly raising the issues of demonetisation and Goods and Services Tax.
“Post-demonetisation, as many as 2.24 lakh fake companies were busted. The number of those submitting Income Tax returns shot up from 3.82 crore in 2013-14 to 6.86 cr in 2017-18.
IT collection rose from Rs 6,38,000 cr to approximately Rs 10 lakh cr in the fiscals mentioned,” he said at a press conference in the Madhya Pradesh capital.
Alleging that internal democracy was non-existent in the Congress, the visiting politician added that whenever a person who was not a member of the Gandhi family assumed the party chief’s mantle and did not toe the line, that person was not tolerated by the family members and their bhakts. (UNI)
