Refer to your column ‘Delimitation and Discrimination’ by J R Aryan DE Feb 19, 2017 subject.It has been nothing short of grand and grave injustice to people of jammu region perpetuated by mindset of evil designs.Where was the need to ban the creation of delimitation commission till 2026.Article 370 was used in bringing 29th amendment in J&K constitution, ratified by Parliament to continue blatant descrimination against Jammu people.I will hold Mr Vajpayee led NDA equally responsible for this draconian legislation which deprives us from achieving level playing field with Kashmir region, legislatively and infact subjugating us further for almost forty years post another farce delimitation in 1995.
Infact, It was a quid pro quo gift to NC regime whose autonomy report had been rubbished by the then BJP led NDA Govt.How do we move forward?This would require another amendment in J&K constitution to be ratified by Parliament using article370.It is a great opportunity for the present chief minister to rectify the historical wrong and bridge the ever increasing gulf between the two regions,a sentiment shared by her late father.Times are changing and so is Jammu region.Give us a level playing field and do not use constitution to bring us down.Wheel of fortune is never static and people who are down today,are going to move up.Someone needs to clear this mess if state has to survive as single unit.
