Delegation meets Relief, Rehabilitation Secretary

JAMMU, Jan 16: A seven member delegation of Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) led by Gurdev Singh, its President met Farooq Ahmed Shah, Secretary Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation.
Shah was apprised about all the major demands of PoK Displaced Persons (DPs) of 1947.
These demands included compensation for the left out properties, reservation for wards of DPs in jobs and educational institutions, compensation for the left out families having deficiency in allotted land, utilization of Rs 2000 crore year marked for identification of land to allot plots to the remaining urban DP families, mutation of lands under DPs dwelling and immediate release of funds for more than 6000 beneficiaries awaiting relief for the last more than 3 months.
Shah was further apprised that more than 6000 DP families have not been provided relief despite appearing on the internet from the last three months due to paucity of funds.
During the meeting Shah’s attention was drawn towards the issues such as attestation of unattested Form-A of DPs having no other records particularly thrust was paid to include DPs registered outside the state but settled in State from the last over six decades.
The delegation comprised of Netar Parkash, Tarlok Singh Tara, Roshan Malhotra, Roshan Lal, Avinash Singh and Master Yog Raj.
