SRINAGAR, Oct 6: A delegation from Thakrie block, Kishtwar led by MLA G.M Saroori here today met Governor Satya Pal Malik.
The delegation apprised the Governor about various issues like implementation of cabinet orders for tehsil status to Thakrie, Sarthal and Pingal, CD Block status for Sarthal and Kontwara, road connectivity, adequate supply of drinking water, filling of vacant posts in health institution, uninterrupted electricity supply, opening of new J-K bank branches, pending development projects etc.
Others in the delegation were Bashir Ahmed Sheikh, Capain Jagdish Raj, Ronak Singh, Chunni Lal, Mohammad Yusuf Lone and Mohammad Iqbal Malik.
The delegation also submitted a memorandum to the Governor containing their demands.
They delegation members informed the Governor that tehsil status for Thakrie will benefit 30 thousand people.
The Governor assured the delegation of due consideration of all their demands.
