Srinagar, Apr 1: Defence Secretary, G Mohan Kumar, today visited forward areas of Kashmir to assess situation along the Line of Control (LoC) ahead of summer.
Sources said that Kumar arrived this morning and went to North Kashmir and visited several Army formations deployed along the LoC. He was briefed about the deployment of troops along the LoC to prevent infiltration from across.
The Sector Commanders briefed him about the measures taken by the Army to strengthen the counter-infiltration grid.
The Army has intensified its vigil along the LoC after 114 militants infiltrated into Kashmir last year. The possible gapes are being plugged to prevent infiltration this year.
