DEERS organizes awareness programme

JAMMU, Dec 19: The Department of Ecology Environment and Remote Sensing (DEERS) organized a Painting Competition and Plantation Drive under the project ‘My Earth’ for the School Children and BEd students of Taawish College of Education, Channi Rama, Jammu, on the topic ‘Save Environment’.
The programme was held under the supervision of Neha Mehta, Environmental Soil Conservationist, to create awareness among the students.
Suresh Chugh, Director, Department of Environment Ecology and Remote Sensing and Chairman, Pollution Control Board, was the chief guest and QD Malik, Regional Director, DEERS, presided over the function.
In Painting competition, Gurvinder Kour (7th), Arjun Pandit (6th) and Sneha (9th) were declared 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, in Junior Wing while Imtiyaz Hussain (8th) got consolation prize.
In Senior Wing recipient of 1st prize was Mansi Khanna (11th) while Sanjana Sharma (10th) and Kiran Panotra (12th) were declared 2nd and 3rd, respectively. The consolation prize was won by Mandeep Kour (10th).
In B Ed Wing, Aanchal Sareen, Suman Bala, and Sakshi Malhotra were declared 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, where as the consolation prize was won by Shaistah Kousar.
