Debate competition, volleyball tourney organized

SRINAGAR, Mar 26: To foster relations and understanding with general masses and to explore presentation skills of students, JKAP 7th battalion of Jammu and Kashmir Police organized a debate competition on Police Public relations, yesterday at its headquarters in Wayen area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The debate competition witnessed participation from different educational institutes of the area. SP A.M. Shah and Mumtaz Peerzada were the members of the Jury.
Later, best speakers of the debate were awarded cash prizes and mementoes.
While speaking on the occasion, Commandant of the unit, SSP B A Makhdoomi, stressed for strengthening relations with public. He said that the aim of organizing such events is to bridge the gap between Police and Public.
Later in the day, the final of the volleyball tournament which was under way, was played between Chogal Club and Kenyal Tarathpora volleyball team. Both teams were provided uniform kits, medals and trophies at the closing function of the tournament which saw participation of 14 volleyball teams of district Kupwara.
Among others, officers of civil administration, police, paramilitary and members of civil society attended the function.
