Deadlock between NGFOA, Forest Deptt authorities ends

JAMMU, Feb 5: All J&K Non- Gazetted Forest Officers Association deferred the State wide agitation after a high level meeting with the Advisor K Vijay Kumar, MK Dwivedi, Commissioner Secretary Forests, Suresh Chugh, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, J&K, Sameer Bharti, Chief Conservator of Forests, Jammu and Association leaders.
Talking to media-persons after their meeting here this afternoon, Mir Nazir Ahmad, Sheikh Bashir Ahmad, Ravi Kumar, Ghulam Nabi Kilam, Ghulam Nabi War, Gurcharan Singh Rakeshwar Singh and others said that they had started agitation on January 17. The nineteen days deadlock ended today with the intervention of the Advisor.
The talks were held under very congenial atmosphere and most of the demands have been agreed by the Advisor and Officers present in the meeting . The Association has demanded removal of Pay anomaly, release of 2 days extra salary and risk allowance for Forest frontline employees.
The Advisor agreed that their demands are genuine as department has lost about 110 employees for the protection of forests and the employees are performing duties round the clock 24×7 including Sundays and holidays to save the green gold of the State on the risk of their lives.
They said the issues of the employees have been agreed in principal and needs financial Concurrence. They also assured that issue of pay anomaly shall be taken up with Finance department for its final settlement and a committee has been has already been constituted to redress anomalies issues. Moreover, the demand of reorganization/restructuring has already been approved to provide more chances of promotions to employees.
The Association extended gratitude to the Advisor Vijay Kumar, Commissioner Secretary Forests and Chief Conservator of Forests for their moral support for their commitment to resolve the long pending agreed demands of forest employees. They said NGFOA core group meeting held here this evening decided to defer the state wide agitation up to February 28, 2019, on the assurance of the Advisor and Commissioner / Secretary Forests.
