DDE students still not provided study material; exams in mid Feb

JAMMU, Jan 20: National Secular Forum today alleged that students of BA Part II, slated to appear in examination in mid February, are still waiting to get study material from the Directorate of Distance Education thus manifesting its negligence and non seriousness towards the basic interests of students.
Addressing a press conference, here today, NSF vice-president Papinder Singh, said that the session 2017-18 was at its fag end with students in various disciplines of the varsity studying hard to appear in their ensuing examinations, but on the other hand. the students of DDE, who have deposited huge fee for getting enrolled in BA Part 2, have not yet been provided the study material so far which is mandatory on the part of DDE authorities.
“DDE is supposed to provide study material to students even before the PCP Classes, which were however conducted without providing relevant study material,” he said and added that PG in Political Science and Economics could not find place in administration notification issued by the DDE this year.
The NSF leader informed that requirements in running the courses that forced University to discontinue the same, had been fulfilled 2015, and both courses were expected to be resumed this session, but mo notification was issued by the Directorate.
Papinder Singh alleged that whole system of administrative set up of Jammu University has landed into hatch patch with DDE  ultimately failed to protect the interests of students belonging to far flung areas for which DDE has been put in place and crores are being spent by the Government for its survival and other expenses.
Papinder Singh sought intervention of the higher authorities and look into the sorry state of affairs prevailing in the Directorate of Distance Education otherwise the academic career of these students is bound to suffer badly beyond recovery.
