DDC reviews progress of mega projects

JAMMU, Oct 22: District Development Commissioner, Jammu, Ramesh Kumar today reviewed the physical and financial progress of ongoing mega projects in Jammu District at the Conference hall of DC Office here.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Commissioner JMC, Arvind Kotwal, Project Director NHAI, Ajay Kumar, AGM NBCC, K N Ahmed, SEs of PDD, PHE, PWD and all Executive Engineers of Jammu District.
The DDC took a projects wise detail review and instructed the executing agencies to ensure the completion of the projects within stipulated time without any cost escalation.
While reviewing the Sewerage projects under AMRUT in the district, the DDC directed the Executive Engineer, UEED to expedite the progress of the project for the its early completion.
Project Manager, Cable Car Corporation informed the meeting that first phase of the Jammu Ropeway Project will be completed by November 2018. He further informed that the Section 2nd is ready for commissioning and will be made functional shortly.
Regarding Suchetgarh Border Tourism, the DDC directed Deputy Director, Tourism Jammu to ensure the completion of the project by March, 2019.
The meeting was informed that the structural part including the dome of New Legislature Complex was completed and the finishing work is in progress. The DDC also reviewed the intelligent traffic light system and development of green spaces under AMRUT.
Regarding 50 bedded Rajeev Gandhi Hospital at Gangyal, it was informed that the 100% structure work is completed while brick, plaster, electric and sanitary works are in progress.
During the meeting, the DDC also assessed the progress made under several other mega projects including Jammu-Akhnoor road ( NH -144), Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex, Sewerage Network at Jammu, 200 Bedded Maternity Hospital, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, Additional Block of Government Dental College and 50 Bedded KotBhalwal Hospital, IIM Jammu, IIT Jammu and passed the necessary directions.
All the concerned department and executing agencies were directed by the DDC to ensure the submission of monthly physical and financial progress report of the projects being executed by their respective departments and agencies.
