REASI, Nov 2: District Development Commissioner Reasi, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary accompanied by SP Sharief Chouhan and ACD Joginder Singh inaugurated a Panchayat Ghar and Community Fecilitation Centre constructed within a period of 5 months at Kambaldanga.
The ACD informed that work was under progress on 75 Panchayat Ghars out of target of 77 and more than 40 are at completion stage.
The district administration has linked performance of Sarpanchs with pace of developmental works especially construction of Panchayat Ghars. A team of officers has been constituted to monitor the progress of Panchayat Ghars on weekly basis to ensure time bound completion and making PRI functional.
DDC inspected works in various Panchayats of Reasi block and called for immediate completion of Panchayat Ghars and school buildings as well as bridges taken up in the district
District Panchayat Officer Rohit Sharma and BDO Tina Mahajan gave a resume of progress of works on the spot. One VLW found absent from duty was placed under suspension.
A number of deputations met the DDC and apprised about the activities taken up by Rural Development Department in sub-urban areas related to sanitation, drinking water, community plantation, soil conservation and infrastructure building.
