Kupwara, Nov 14: In order to resolve the people’s grievances at their doorsteps, the District administration headed by District Development Commissioner, Kupwara Khalid Jahangir initiated Public Contact Programme at tehsil headquarters of the district. As a part of PCP initiative , a public durbar was held at Drugmulla.
During the grievance redressal camp/awami durbar locals raised issues relating to improvement of road connectivity, restoration of drinking water supply, Health, Irrigation, street lights, repairs, renovation and regularization of bore wells, natural springs, power supply to water supply schemes, improvement in power supply net working, healthcare, transportation, irrigation, foodgrains, land acquisition, removal of illegal encroachments on state and gahcharie land compensation issues were put forth by the public for early redressal .
The DDC gave the deputations a patient hearing and assured them that all of their genune demands would be redressed in a time bound manner. He directed the concerned executing and implementing agencies to work with added zeal, devotion and dedication so that people would be able to avail the facilities at their door steps.
He passed instructions to PHE Department for completion of Bomhama Water Supply Scheme during the month.He directed the RDD, Irrigation,R and B, Becon to take up the execution, repairs, renovation, desalting and beautification measures of Dala Khul and Lal Khul for restoration their prestigious glory.
He said that macadamization works of remaining roads,inner road links would be taken in hand during next season.
He further said that 7 Receiving Stations are being up-graded in the district. Restoration of Streetlights, community sanitary blocks, fencing and up gradation of some departmental institutions shall be priorities of executing agencies . He directed the Forest Department to ensure supply of fire wood to masques besides timber to eligible citizens before the winter starts. He directed the FCS & CA Deptt for smooth distribution of K.Oil supplies in the area. He directed the Health Department for shifting of health centre at centrally located place with the help of locals. He said that under SBM 10 blocks are being declared ODF and the targets would be achieved in all 19 CD Blocks of the district by providing IHHL facilities .
District administration iscommitted to provide all basic facilities to people of the district at their door steps the DDC said, adding that Government has launched various schemes and programmes for the people and they should come forward and avail the benefits of developmental programmes and schemes.
