DDC holds discussion over development of Press Club

RAJOURI, Mar 29: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Dr. Shahid Iqbal today chaired the Press Club development meeting.
Meeting was organized by district administration to hold threadbare discussion with media fraternity for overall development of institution.
IAS Probationer Shrikant Suse, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Suresh Gupta, District Information Officer, Mohammad Shafait and Lead Bank Officer Parvaiz Ahmed were present in the meeting whereas media persons under the chairmanship of President of Press Club Rajouri, Avinash Jasyal took part in the meet.
In the meeting, it was decided that with the involvement of all the departments functioning in the district atleast two programmes should be held in Press Club Rajouri, once in a month that covers Government schemes, social issues, financial literacy and other awareness programmes.
Publication of Press Club magazine on monthly basis was also finalized with the main aim of improving public outreach of the institution.
DDC informed the meeting that district administration has started process for preparing proposal for setting up Press Colony in Rajouri as Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti issued directions in this regard during her Public Outreach Programme in the district.  He also informed that insurance cover for press members is also under active consideration of district administration and the matter is taken up with insurance agencies.
Development of more infrastructures for Press Club was also among the agenda points for the meeting and decisions regarding installation of hand pump, provision of more furniture, construction of pantry and sanitary complex were also taken in the meeting. Pertinently the administration has already decided to provide community hall, street lights and high quality sound system to Press Club.
