DCC resents power failure

KATHUA, Sept 28: District Congress Committee, Kathua has alleged that State Government has failed to ensure adequate power supply in the entire Kathua district.
In a press statement here today, former MLC and DCC president Subhash Gupta alleged that Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, who is also holding portfolio of Power, has been boasting of implementation of various initiatives in the power sector. Not only this, Dr Singh also says that these initiatives would ensure sufficient amount of electricity generated and provided to the consumers however, the situation is totally against such statements.
Gupta further said that DyCM whose constituency falls in Kathua district has failed to provide proper power supply throughout the district. He said that the power management could be adjudged from the fact that in July, the 10 KVA transformer of Sanjhi Morh Power Grid Station (Hgr) remained damaged for more than one month and public of fifty-villages got badly affected with no fault of them.
He alleged that despite collecting hefty bills from innocent consumers Power Department is least bothered to sort out hardships.
“On one hand, there are unscheduled power cuts and on the other,  department do not bother at all as far as the service of electricity is concerned,” he remarked.
