DC visits border areas, inspects development works

JAMMU, Mar 15: District Development Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma, conducted an extensive tour of various borders areas of R.S. Pura and reviewed the pace of progress on several ongoing development works.
The DDC inspected the construction work on revenue complex being raised at R.S.Pura and directed the executing agency to further speed up the work on the building for its timely completion.
At Magowali, the DDC directed the concerned authorities to ascertain the reason behind damage of lanes and drains in the area within a very short span of time of its construction and repair the same at an earliest.
The DDC inspected the construction work on community hall at Satraian and directed for its quality and timely completion. He also asked the BDO to ensure that the concerned Panchayat properly maintains cleanliness and hygiene in the local pond.
At Rathana, the DDC reviewed the construction of community hall and directed the Rural Development Department to develop the existing ponds in the area so that these can be utilized for irrigation in the area.
AT Chokroi, the DDC inspected irrigation khulls, besides reviewing the functioning of the Niabat.
The DDC also visited Joura farm and inspected various works like construction of stores, godowns, quarters, fencing, installation of irrigation pumps etc., being done under Prime Minister’s Task Force Programme. He also took stock of the damage caused to the crops and vegetables due to recent hailstorms and directed the administration to prepare asami wise list for the losses caused to both the crops.
