DC takes stock of people’s problems

KUPWARA, Nov 12: The District Development Commissioner, Kupwara Khalid Jahangir  today conducted tour of  Keran tehsil and took stock of various issues and problems of the people from  Mundiyan (Keran) during Public Darbar.
Various public deputations put forth their demands and problems being faced by them, especially during winter months in respect of road connectivity, drinking water, health  to the public besides  improvement/ repair of roads leading  to Keran, inner link roads, postings of Govt  employees at their place of postings,  additional accommodation for Govt HSS Keran, laboratory block, completion of PHC Keran, completion of Mundiyan bridge, basic facilities within Model Village Keran at Mundiyan and other issues,  were highlighted by the public during the Darbar.
Speaking on the occasion the MLA Karnah, Raja Manzoo Ahmad Khan said that present Government is keen to provide all required basic amenities to the public at their nearest living in far-flung and remote areas. He said the road from Farkiyan to Keran has been taken up for up-gradation works under CRF, Mundiyan bridge is under construction  with the cost of Rs3.50 crore. The MLA impressed upon the concerned officers and executing agencies for timely completion of on-going projects.  He announced that helicopter service to Keran is in process and execution of helipad is in full swing.
District Development Commission said that the problems and demands projected by the locals of the area will be addressed shortly. He said that district administration has allocated the amount for taking up  construction works in the area for better basic facilities to the public and special focus is being given to redress the peoples demands. Referring  to the  people’s demands he said that  special focus will be  given on the Keran road for its up gradation. He said that under BADP,  Keran  is being developed on modern lines. He directed the Health, Education, Rural Development, Irrigation and Flood Control agencies  to completed the on-going  projects by  March, 2018.
