DC, SSP visit Mattan, assure arrest of culprits within week

ANANTNAG, Aug 2: The Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag and SSP Anantnag today assured the minority Sikh community members at Mattan near, here that the culprits responsible for the kidnapping of two school girls of the community will be arrested within a week and sternly dealt under law.
The DC Anantang and SSP Anantnag gave this assurance to members of Sikh Community during a meeting at Mattan. Both the officers informed the members of the community that the Police is on the job and soon they will be arrested.
The president of the Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee,  Babloo Singh said that they are hopeful that the administration will arrest the culprits. They also demanded seizure of the vehicle and arrest of its driver.
The officers told the members of Sikh community who had assembled in Gurdwara Mattan today that they will trace the culprits by seeing the CCTV Footage and police is actively investigating the case.
The two girls of class 9th were kidnapped by some youth of majority community on Tuesday which evoked a strong protest from the minority Sikh community in the area and they protested against the same yesterday. However the two girls were rescued from the clutches of their kidnappers after one managed to contact her parents by phone. The members of the community rushed to the spot and rescued both the girls but the kidnappers managed to flee and are still at large.
