SAMBA, Oct 8: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda today held a public grievance redressal camp organised by Rural Development Department at Govt Higher Secondary School, Smailpur. All the fourteen line departments, the members of PRIs and people from all walks of life participated in the camp to apprise the district administration about the problems and the expectations of the general public in view of the upcoming festival season.
The welcome address was presented by Block Development Officer Bari Brahmana, Aijaz Qaiser wherein he explained in detail the development activities taken up under various Central/ State sponsored schemes in the entire block.While outlining the purpose of such camps, Assistant Commissioner Development, Samba Tilak Raj Thapa explained the motive of such camps and informed the public about the role of general public in the development sector and also termed people participation as the key to such growth & development.
Different Departments gave details of schemes and works being executed by them in the area. They provided on the spot replies to the issues raised by the residents. XEn PWD assured that ISM Dispensary will be handed over next month. Regarding Barjani bridge, he informed that work will start as soon as overhead transmission and electrical wires are removed.DSWO Samba and CDPO Purmandal gave details of Aasra and Laddli beti scheme.DPO Samba informed that the department provides Rs 12000 incentive to family constructing toilet under the guidelines. Chief Agriculture Officer, Samba gave details of schemes functioning in the district for the benefit of the farmers. He informed that the department provides subsidy for establishing biogas units, mushroom units and purchasing plant protection medicines. Also, 1062 soil samples have been sent for preparing soil health cards in the district.
DC Samba assured the public about the projection of their demands at appropriate level and also directed the departments to arrange more awareness programmes. She impressed upon the PRIs to be ambassadors of all such schemes and act as a bridge between the administration and the public. She also laid emphasis on the quality of developmental activities under taken. This was the fourth meeting in series of meetings to be held at every block of District Samba.
