KATHUA, Dec 4: District Development Commissioner Rohit Khajuria paid surprise visit to various offices in DC Office Complex here today.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rashpal Singh accompanied the DDC during the inspection.
During the inspection, DC found some officers and officials absent from duties without proper leave or permission besides movement registers were also not properly maintained. Taking serious note of this, DDC issued notices to concerned officers to explain their positions, whereas four officials of different offices were suspended due to their unauthorized absence.
While warning the officers/officials, the DDC said that strict action will be taken against the erring employees and gave strict directions to the officers for maintaining punctuality and movement registers in their respective offices. He directed the district heads to be on time and adhere to the office timings strictly so that general public does not face any inconvenience.
During the inspection, the DC also checked the cleanliness in and around office premises and passed instructions to the officers for maintaining proper sanitation.
Meanwhile, District Development Commissioner reviewed the progress of development works taken up under Member Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLAD).
During the meeting the DDC was apprised about the physical and financial progress of various approved works under MPLAD. The DC expressed his concern over the slow progress of works initiated by various departments and further stressed the need to speed up the pace to complete all the works within the stipulated time frame.
He further gave instructions to all the departments to efficiently utilize the funds for creation of durable assets. He stressed that all the departments should work in a coordinated manner to enhance their productivity so that the benefit of these works percolate down to the grass root level.
While taking detailed review of department wise physical and financial achievements under MPLAD, DDC stressed on concerned officers to ensure judicious utilization of funds under MPLAD schemes besides proper monitoring of all development works for better outcome. He also called for timely submission of utilization certificates and photographs of executed works by the departments.
