DC Kupwara chairs public darbar at Liderwan

KUPWARA, Apr 25: DC Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir, today chaired a public grievances redressel camp at Liderwan to get the first hand appraisal of public grievances and encourage participation of youth in resolving local issues.
On the occasion, several deputations from Liderwan and other adjacent areas appraised the DDC about their grievances wherein he issued on spot directions to the concerned officers for their redressal.
The locals demanded upgradation of basic infrastructural facilities like roads for better connectivity, electricity, water, accessible and affordable healthcare, Sheep and Animal Husbandry sub-centre, auditorium etc. and expressed their long pending desire in developing Liderwan, a pristine patch of nature, into a tourist destination that will add strength to the economy of the area in the long run.
People suggested that walnut trees spread across vast patches of land within and around Liderwan need to be protected from indiscriminate felling by selfish interests for absurd reasons and their use for commercial purposes like furniture for buildings be prevented.
The DDC offered a patient hearing of public demands during which he assured the people that after proper perusal all genuine demands will be fulfilled in due course of time. He also assured all present that their grievances will be redressed within stipulated time frame.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC highlighted the need for active participation of people from different walks of life towards keeping administration always on toes for resolving their issues and suggested coordination and cooperation of the district administration as an effective method for good and responsive governance.
Meanwhile, DDC also paid visit to Boys HS Liderwan, inspected the construction work going on and directed the concerned to ensure the completion of the school building by the end of May 2018.
ACR Kupwara, ACD Kupwara, Chief Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, District Officers, Engineers, sectoral Officers and others were present on the occasion.
