DC Jammu reviews arrangements for Digi Dhan Mela

JAMMU, Jan 9: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Simrandeep Singh convened a meeting to discuss the arrangements for Digi Dhan Mela slated to be held on January 17, at Gulshan Ground here.
DC informed that Jammu is one of the 100 cities where Digi Dhan Melas are planned by NITI Aayog with an aim to promote the awareness about digital transaction especially cashless transactions.
It was also given out in the meeting that stalls by various banks and departments will be set up to sensitize the stake holders about digital mode of transactions. Special teams will be present in these camps to carry out Aadhar enrolment and updation/corrections in Aadhar cards. Besides people will also be assisted in getting their Aadhar number.
Also special stalls would be set up by Deputy Commissioner office for extending services related to generation of UIN of arms licenses and renewal of licences, correction in ration cards and change of ration card types. RTO has also been directed to aware people regarding the new online procedure for issuance of license and registration of vehicles.
DDC directed to line departments to make the requisite arrangements well in time and stressed on better coordination among the various agencies for the successful conduct of the event.
He said that this mela is a major event for spreading awareness among the stakeholders about digital transactions and general public should get optimal benefit from the initiative.
ADDC Anuradha Gupta, ADC Rifat Kohli, ADC Arun Manhas, senior officers from various departments, representatives from banks and concerned agencies were present in the meeting.
