DC Jammu inspects sewerage work

JAMMU, July 7: Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Jammu today took stock of ongoing sewerage work in different areas of Jammu city viz. Karan Nagar, Ambphalla, Rehari Colony, Dogra Hall, etc.
He was accompanied by Sureya Zubeen, Additional District Development Commiss-ioner, Jammu, Mohd Rafiq, General Manager, National Building Construction Corpora-tion (NBCC), Mohd Taj, Executive Engineer, UEED and Arvind Gupta, Executive Engineer (T), JMC.
During the tour, it was apprised to Deputy Commissioner by the concerned officers that property chambers out of every household shall be constructed after which household sewer pipelines shall be connected with the property chambers to fully implement the sewerage system in Jammu city. It was informed that the cost of the project is 23.01 crores.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to complete the work on war footing basis within a period of one month so that every household is connected with the property chambers. If there is any bottleneck in implementing the sewerage project it may be brought to his knowledge so that the same could be removed immediately. He further asked all the concerned departments to coordinate with each other for successfully implementing the sewerage project.
