DC inspects Chutuk Hydel Project

KARGIL, Jan 22: Deputy Commissioner (DC) and CEO, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil, Vikas Kundal here today visited Chutuk Hydel Project and took stock of power generation from during the winter season.
The DC went round various sections of the Hydel Project like barrage section, reservoir and power house and inquired from the engineers about the present status of power generation.
He was informed that around 8 to 9 mega watts of power is being generated during peak hours due to the low discharge of water in Suru River.
The concerned officers further informed the DC that power is being distributed to various areas of the district through five 66/11 KV stations at Kargil, Khangral, Shargole, Gramthang and Sankoo.
The DC while underlining the need for better coordination between NHPC and PDD authorities instructed the concerned officers to put in their best efforts to ensure provision of hassle free power supply so that the consumers during the winter season.
The DC was accompanied many other officers of NHPC, PDD and district administration.
