DC inaugurates Science Prog under RMSA

SAMBA, Feb 3: The Deputy Commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda today inaugurated a programme to showcase innovative science activities to school students under Rashtriya Madhmik Shiksha Abhiyan(RMSA).
The two day programme commenced today and saw participation by students of Govt Higher Sec School Jakh and students of class 9th and 10th of nearby cluster schools.
Through a portable planetarium, various concepts regarding astronomy, stars and galaxy were shown to children. Besides, an herbal exhibition was organised in which medicinal plants of nearby areas were displayed and facts about their remedial values for various ailments were disclosed.
The students were also facilitated to perform simple hands on physics and chemistry experiments to understand complex physical and chemical laws.
The resource persons from Science Teacher Association also presented power point presentations on various topics.
Speaking on the occasion, DC said that objective for organising practical / visual demonstrations is to make difficult concepts easier to grasp. She also emphasised on utilization of e-learning tools so that students can remain update regarding latest scientific developments.
CEO Samba O.P Bhagat, Principal Jakh GHSS Deepak Gupta, Secretary Science Teacher Association Sayeed Iftiaq, resource persons Manzoor Javed, Khurshid Ahmed Rather, Dr Ashiq Hussain, Raees Ahmed Dar and Rajan Bharti were also present.
