DC inaugurates District Emergency Operation Centre

UDHAMPUR, Dec 10: Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary inaugurated District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) in his office complex.
District Emergency Operation Centre Udhampur comprises of dedicated four line hunting telephone facility with common helpline number 01992-27272 beside Hotline, SMS, Fax, Internet, Wireless Communication, communication and video conference room.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that setting of Emergency Operation Center at the district headquarters would go a long way in coordinating the flow of information with respect to activities associated with relief operations during any disaster like situation.
He said that it would also maintain systematic database of the resources available, important phone numbers, names and addresses of important government and non-government officials and NGOs.
He hoped that a well designed district Emergency Operation Center would greatly benefit the coordination of response and recovery activities, clear operating procedures, staff roles and responsibilities.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Angrez Singh Rana, Joint Director Planning, Rakesh Jamwal and District Informatics Officer, Anil Sharma were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, an extensive drive has been initiated by District Administration, Udhampur, for enrollment of more than 5.50 lakh persons under National Food Security Act for provision of ration on subsidized rates.
A dedicated Grievance Redressal Cell has been opened in DC Office where inhabitants can approach for any complaint or redressal of grievance, enrollment forms can also be requisitioned and enrollment schedule obtained. A central landline has been established at 01992-272727 which will be functioning from 9 am to 5 pm.
Interdepartmental teams have been constituted at Village/ Panchayat level and also at cluster level headed by Naib Tehsildars, ZEOs, ZEPOs and other officers. Patwaris, Members of Panchayat, Lumberdars, Chowkidars, VLWs and other officials are members of the enrolment committee for door-to-door enrolment drive. Sub-Divisional, Tehsil, Niabat and Cluster committees have been constituted for supervision.
