DB’s directive in PIL against exorbitant air fare

JAMMU, July 23: Division Bench of State High Court comprising First Puisine Judge Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar and Justice B S Walia today asked the Department of Civil Aviation to file detailed response within two weeks in the Public Interest Litigation highlighting issues relating to flights.
In the PIL filed by former President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Y V Sharma, it has been highlighted that airlines are charging exorbitant air fare. The petitioner has also prayed for making airlines accountable for delay of flights from Jammu.
When the PIL came up for hearing, ASGI stated that the issues raised in the PIL are under consideration in the Department of Civil Aviation and several departments are being consulted on the same.
On this, DB granted two weeks time for filing detailed response in this regard.
