DB’s directive to DC, DFO

JAMMU, Jan 31: In a petition seeking registration of FIR against sitting BJP Minister Abdul Gani Kohli and others for encroaching 10 kanals of forest land at Nowabad Sunjwan, Division Bench of the State High Court comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan today directed the Deputy Commissioner Jammu and Divisional Forest Officer Jammu to conduct joint demarcation and file report failing which they shall remain present in the court on next date of hearing
While passing these directions, Division Bench observed, “in the status report filed by the Vigilance Organization it is stated that Divisional Forest Officer Jammu and Tehsildar Bahu have constituted a committee and joint inspection/demarcation of the area would be made”.
On this, Deputy Advocate General Ehsan Mirza appearing for the State sought two weeks time to conduct joint inspection.
Division Bench granted two weeks time for joint demarcation. “If they failed to file report by next date of hearing, the Deputy Commissioner Jammu as well as Divisional Forest Officer shall appear in person”.
