JAMMU, Sept 18: Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Sanjay Kumar Gupta today sought detailed affidavit from the Government regarding the completion of Jammu Ropeway Project and sought personal appearance of Managing Director J&K State Cable Car Corporation on the next date of hearing.
The direction was passed in a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Inderjeet Khajuria, President All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association highlighting delay in creation of artificial lake and completion of Ropeway Project.
In the PIL, petitioner has submitted that the State Government has been claiming to take all possible measures to make Jammu city a place of tourist attraction but the ground situation is totally contrary.
“With the train reaching Katra, the business activities in Jammu have suffered a lot and unless these projects are completed in time pilgrims and tourists cannot be attracted to Jammu”, the PIL said.
