DB issues bailable warrants against DSEJ

JAMMU, Nov 2: Division Bench of the State High Court comprising Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Tashi Rabstan, in a contempt petition, has issued bailable warrants against Ravinder Singh, Director School Education Jammu for securing his presence on November 9 for his failure to comply with the judgment dated December 20, 2016.
In this judgment passed in Letters Patent Appeal titled Banarsi Dass Versus State of J&K and others, Division Bench had directed the Director School Education Jammu to engage/adjust Yog Raj, son of Tara Mani of Karua Reasi in Government Middle School Tanda where the post of ReT was lying vacant. The DB had granted 4 weeks time to DSEJ to do the needful.
When the contempt petition filed by Yog Raj came up for hearing, Advocate Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed with Advocate Suraj Singh invited the attention of the Division Bench towards the last order dated October 6, 2017 when the Division Bench had allowed last opportunity of 3 weeks to AAG Ravinder Gupta to file compliance report and in default had directed the personal appearance of Director School Education Jammu.
“Neither compliance report has been filed nor Director School Education Jammu is present in person”, he further submitted.
On the other hand, AAG Ravinder Gupta sought some more time to file compliance report as per the previous order of the Division Bench. He further submitted that he has already conveyed the directions of Division Bench to the Director School Education Jammu and pressed for more time to enable him to file the compliance report.
After considering the submissions of both the sides, the DB directed issuance of the bailable warrants against the Director School Education Jammu and further directed the execution of the warrants through the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu.
